English Language Challenges

Hi guys! I’m so sad because it would be the last post I write you! However, I’m so happy because I’m finishing English IV, It was so rewarding learning so many things not only about English, but I learnt more about my classmates too.

This semester I was tired because we don’t have long holidays, our 1^st semester was ending in August, but one or two weeks later we started again class, it was terrible! I wasn’t motivated and I was thinking that our class will be so boring, but in my opinion our class was very funny, because I knew more about another cultures and review pronunciation and grammar, I felt like I always was a blogger, I know I get into in the character so much hahaha, and I was inside the text all the time telling them about my experiences and stories. Now I think that it was a very good workshop, nobody thinks that English could be learned through a blog, but I think that it’s an original and interactive way.

Although I think that my writing abilities didn’t had a big developing, all the time I thought that my blog had a bad grammar!. The session could be joint with more grammar class and feedback about our work maybe, it could be more interesting and enriching with our learning.  

My challenge was record videos because I have a bad memory, it was so difficult to me, but it was so funny! But now I’m using so much English, viewing series like How I Met Your Mother, and sometimes I don’t see subtitles only listening. And I travel a lot, but now I will be more fastened and secure when I will be talking with another people.

It was an incredible experience!

Change to my study programme!

Hi guys! On this week’s post I am going to talk about some changes I would like to do about my study programme. So let’s start!

In my opinion the place where I am studying needs some essential changes about the building, we have pillars in the middle of classroom that make difficult the concentration of us, and it could be an opportunity because we are safe, our building never going down hahaha. Another thing that I hate of EGGP is schedule because it’s distribute all day, if we don’t stay here all day we can’t make university life for our different schedule, since 1^st to 2^nd we have class until 16:00, but since 3^rd  class finish about 8pm, that’s terrible! Also it could be an opportunity because somedays my classmates stay in playground taking some glasses of water hahaha. But our problems should finish when we start class on Huérfanos.

Also I would like that if we are studying with free class it fulfill because some professors now are changing his mode of make test for blame of other professors and the free class don’t be working!

I think that new happiness ranking don’t change anything, because we will have 3 sections yet with different professor each one, and before we already knew what our ranking was and we supposed with what professor we could stay; but now it’s an uncertainty. In my opinion the EGGP should reduce sections and invest in better teachers for all!

It was some big changes that our School needs, I hope you will be agree with me, and someday we will stay on VM20. See you next week!

Summer Plans!

Hi guys! On this week post I am going to talk about my plans for this summer. 

As you already know I was born in Ecuador, but since 2013 I didn’t went to my country. It has an explication, in 2014 I was travel to south of Chile with my family, in 2015 I went to USA, Jamaica, Mexico & Haiti, and in 2016 I stay in my home with my parents and little sister, because before that year we travel and we have people that could looking after our house, but not now, only my two older sisters travel abroad.

So this year I was planning go to visit my family, about a 3 weeks ago buy the tickets on internet and I will travel on January 11^th and I will come back on March 4^th. I will travel with my older sister she travel with me because she’s studying Dentistry and my aunt is Dentist so my sister is going to practice and to be an dentist assistance; but actually I’m planning travel only to visit my family and know more places of my country. I would like to visit Galapagos Island but I think that it’s very expensive, I could visit it but not on that occasion. I would like visit so many places of Ecuador, first the three more important cities Quito, Cuenca and Guayaquil. But specially I would like to visit some landmarks like Government Palace, Middle of the World City, Otavalo, Papallacta (thtat is a thermal spring), Ingapirca, Company Church and Baños de Ambato, it’s one of the most spectacular places of Ecuador, and I follow an image to you believe me.

I would like practice some extreme sports, but I dream to do bungee jumping so much and swinging in Casa del Arbol.

My Pets!

Hi guys! I really missed you so much these weeks that I didn't see you! So, this week I am going to talk about pets, but not anyone pet, it blog will be about my pets!

I want to tell you about my special pets. First when I was about 8 or 9 years I got a pitbull dog’s breed, his name was Chocolate. He was the most loved pet for me because he was so special, but sincerely he was so bad because when he arrived to my house he grew up with another bad dog. They fight with other animals, and although you don’t believe me they kill other dogs. I can say you so many events but I will remember forever when he bit a horse in the road, fortunately don’t cause another accident. He was knocked down in 2006, and died immediately, I suffered a lot.

After that sad incident, one friend of my parents gave me a Golden Retriever Dog, his name was “Helena Del Collier” but her nickname was Pola. She was a top model of Pedigree, and she was a member of Kennel Club Chile, and also has a number tattoo in her ears, she was so cool. When she arrived to my house, she already had 3 years old and she had a hip dysplasia so, we had to sterilize her. She was a happy pet because she loved run and was wet, and she got so much space to do this things. But, unfortunately she died on November 2 this year at the age of 14, and I suffered a lot again. Despite everything I am in calm because I didn’t wanted she suffered.

So as you know I have other pets, a peacock, chickens, an alpaca, and 3 dogs, Pompita, Hada y Rufo.

My Future!

Hi guys! It’s me again! And today I’m going to talk about a very heavy subject. I have a lot of doubts about my future, and I will share them with you.

To begin with, I would like to work with people; actually, that was one of the reasons why I choose this career. However, I started growing disillusioned about the way public administration treats people in a cold, non-personal way. There’s something about treating directly with people’s problems, situations, the personal interactions… If there’s something I would like to do in the future is working directly with men and women, it doesn’t matter to me if I make a lot of money or if I’m working in an client attendance office! Haha it’s just I like social interactions, listening to people’s problems.

I would like to travel, like I said in past blogs, but I don’t know if I would like to travel because of my job… I think I see travel more like a time of relax and knowing new places and persons, not so about opening new job possibilities. I would like to be transferred and study abroad, but that’s another story.

I would like to specialize on Public Management, because I like the way public administration works, the inner work, although like I said, my real interest is in dealing with people.

Music!

Hi guys! Today I'm going to talk about pop, one of my favorite types of music!

Britney Spears was my first favorite singer and I like her so much. I went to her concert in 2011 and it was a great experience, although it was so crowded I could barely enjoyed it. However, until this day I still love her, she is the most beautiful woman in the world, and my favorite song is "Lucky".

Then it's Bruno Mars. He is a versatile performer, making such fabulous pop anthems like "The lazy song" and powerfull ballads like "When I was your man", one of my favorites of all, a romantic song that talk about an unrequited love. He has so much style!

An extract of this song that i love is the final part when he say:  "I hope he buys you flowers, I hope he holds your hand, Give you all his hours when he has the chance, take you to every party 'cause I remember how much you love to dance. Do all the things I should have done when I was your man."

Then, there's a chilean singer that captivated me about 5 years ago and it's still deeply in my heart: the beautiful songs of Manuel García made me cry sometimes because he represents an important part of my life, when i was in love of my real first love. It was some reasons why i love him so much.

From then on, I have so many favorite singer and songwriters! The black eyed peas, Rihanna, Beyonce, Backstreet boys, incubus and Keane.

And finally if i had to choose only one, i will choose Coldplay, my favorite brit band of all times. One of the happiest moment of my life was when i went to his concert this year with my mom, sisters and BFF. It could be for the beautiful of the musicians (specially Guy Berryman <3) or the beauty of their sad and fragile songs, maybe. But it's inevitable, I love them!

My favorite song of all times it's called "Green eyes" from Coldplay's second album A Rush of Blood to the Head. One of several songs dedicated to Gwyneth Paltrow, then the love of his life, it's a beautiful song and definitely one of the best Coldplay songs in my opinion. Also he represents an important time of my life, my ex boyfriend gaves me in an important time of our relationship and i remember this song like a symbol of our love, but unfortunately we broke up :( so now we are good friends.

Bread and Roses film

Hi guys! Today I'm going to talk about a them so important to me because in the class we saw a movie called Bread and Roses. The film explain some situations that happens the same thing in all countries, issues with immigrants. Personally i didn't knew existence of this movie, but i heard about Bread and roses movement before. So, let start!

The 3 scenes liked to me was:

1.When they enter to office building to protest. 

2.When they are carry to prison and called to say that won the fight.

3.When the girl gaves the check to man, for study in the university.

They liked me because it's the proof of perseverance, teamwork and conviction about an idea.  

I think that social films are a new way to teach about culture or social problems. On January, 2010 i saw an excellent movie named The Help, it's so popular, and in my opinion a film can change thoughts, i can't explain why exist discrimination to black race yet, we're in 2016 and the movie show that social issues are here yet! 

When we were planning -my family and me- a vacations to Haiti on February, 2015 I think that talking with a haitian could be a good idea, so when we charge fuel, we talking with a haitian asking about Labadee (the beach when we will stay) and he said that Haiti is a country so expensive, and he said one thing that  always remember "haitian can't find work but weirding if an immigrant arrive to Haiti searching work, he can find it, sure". Also said that he was studied Engineering but can't finish because he knows that don't will have work. The condition of immigrant work in Chile are bad, they do practically all work that nobody wants to do. So in that moment i can imagine the difficult to stay in his country, and like you know that i'm an immigrant too, i feel lucky to stay here with good friends.

Everyday, everytime someone are being discriminated, for race, sexual identity, bullying at school, etc... It can't happen today! Sorry, i'm so furious and sad for it.
